The carbon electrode and hard-brittle material processing industries have long been served by fragmented, single-product suppliers. A graphite electrode plant needed one vendor for cleaning and another for grinding; a SiC wafer fab needed a different vendor again for slicing. Specifications, service and accountability were scattered.
